COURTNEY FORCE READY TO FOCUS ON RACING AND FIESTA
TOPEKA, KS (MAY 27, 2009) --- Second year Top Alcohol Dragster pilot Courtney Force is ready to put another school year at Cal State Fullerton in her rear view mirror. She will be making the first national event start in her newly logoed Sanyo Supercharged HD Top Alcohol Dragster tuned by Jerry Darien at the 21st annual NHRA O'Reilly Summer Nationals presented by Castrol GTX this weekend.
"I am so excited. I am ready to get my racing routine and get back into my race car. It will be nice to not have to worry about passing finals or school and I can completely focus on racing. It will be fun to travel every weekend and be with my family every weekend. I just love being out in my race car. I don't have any summer classes so I'll be able to spend more time with my race car which will be great," said Force.
In addition to a busy racing schedule Force will also continue to promote the 2010 Ford Fiesta as part of the Fiesta Movement. Force was one of one hundred people selected as "Agents" and given a Ford Fiesta in advance of its U.S. release. "Agents" are tasked with driving the Fiesta and passing along their experience and insights through a variety of social media sites including Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, and personal web pages.
"(The Fiesta Movement) has been a lot of fun. I have learned a lot about the Fiesta and I've had a really good time showing it off to my friends and even people I don't know who have questions. It has forced me to learn how to drive a stick (manual transmission), which I am 100% glad that I have that skill now," said "Agent" Force.
"I have been talking to people online about (the Fiesta) mainly through Twitter and so many people have responded with positive comments or questions about the Fiesta. It is unbelievable how many people are fascinated by the Fiesta. I just drove down the street the other day and there was a guy in the lane next to me yelling at me asking questions about the Fiesta with his daughter. He wanted to know if they were available here yet. There are a lot of people that already know about it and they just have a few more questions. I really like talking with those people."
Force will hopefully have a lot to talk about on the race track as well. Qualifying will begin Friday 11 a.m. with a second session at 2:30 p.m.
