Rod Fuller on Atlanta

"We have to get the big CAT back on track at Atlanta. There's no doubt we've struggled at the past few races, but we qualified on the pole at Atlanta last year and there's no reason we can't do it again this season. We ran low E.T. of the first two races, but the important thing is to go out like our teammates (Antron Brown) and be consistent on race day. We want to make up some ground over these next two races."

Rob Flynn (crew chief) on Atlanta

"Last year we were low qualifier there and based off of our testing after Las Vegas, we feel we have a setup that will go down the race track. We look for good things at Atlanta with the Caterpillar car."

Fuller, who finished second in the NHRA standings last season, enters the sixth race on the 2008 schedule ranked seventh in the Top Fuel standings. He advanced to the semifinals at the Phoenix race in February and recorded low elapsed time of the meet at the first two races of the season (Pomona and Phoenix).

Two weeks ago in Las Vegas, his home track, Fuller qualified the Caterpillar dragster sixth with a run of 4.608 seconds. He was defeated in the opening-round by Troy Buff. It is the first time that Fuller recorded consecutive opening round losses since the 2006 season.

Last season at Atlanta Dragway, Fuller earned his third career pole and first of four No. 1 qualifying awards last season with a pass of 4.506 seconds at 326.71 mph. He also earned low E.T. of the meet honors.

Fuller has qualified for 66 consecutive NHRA Top Fuel events. The last time he failed to make the cut was at the Houston race in 1996 when he was driving the Montana Express dragster on a part time schedule. Fuller has the second longest qualifying streak in Top Fuel (Tony Schumacher) and has an average starting position of second in two races at Atlanta Dragway.

Fuller has 13 career NHRA sportsmen victories in the Super Comp (seven) and Super Gas (six) categories. He has two Super Comp victories at Atlanta Dragway, 1999 and '00.
