Treble first DNQ in professional career

Commerce, Ga. -- Craig Treble was looking to qualify well this weekend in Atlanta, and then take a shot at winning the event, but instead a found himself in a position he has never faced as a Professional, he did not qualify. Trebles best run of the weekend, a 7.339 @ 181.57 put him 17th after the last session, just .013 from making the field at the 23rd annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals presented by Pontiac.

"We had a bad crankshaft in our motor, and I didn't find it in time. I have had such good luck with Vance & Hines over the years that I have never had a bad crankshaft before. I didn't diagnose the problem because I have never had one go bad before. I really didn't know it was bad until it let go in the final qualifying session on Saturday."

Craig Treble had a streak of 58 NHRA National event starts heading into Atlanta, and with the DNQ collected no points from this event. Treble is now fifth in NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Bike points following the Atlanta event.

Next NHRA POWERade Event will be K&N Filters NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown, N.J., May 15th to 18th 2003.
