The second and final day of qualifying brought some major changes in the weather conditions for the teams. Troy and Jeg began the day sitting in the No. 10 and No. 20 spots respectfully.
When the third session began Jeg was on the outside looking in. The run was an improvement and the Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier jumped up to the No. 8 position. He ran a 6.971 at 197.31 mph.
"We made a good run during the third session and we left a lot on the table. The conditions really improved a lot over Friday and we should have similar conditions on raceday," explained Jeg.
Troy also improved in the third session. The Jeg's machine launched from the starting line and made a quick move to the left. Troy ran a 6.990 at 197.33 mph and fell to the No. 17 spot.
"We just got too aggressive on the starting line and the problem was compounded when the car started to move around," said Troy after the third session.
The fourth and final qualifying session of the weekend proved to be a handful for the group of drivers wanting to break into the sixteen. There was not a single car that broke into the field.
During the final session Troy ran a 7.043 at 195.93 mph. He made the eleventh quickest run of the session, but it was not enough.
"Not making a good run during the third session really hurt us and put us behind the eight ball. We will continue to work together as a team to put a yellow and black Jeg's Chevy Cavalier into the winner's circle," said Troy.
Jeg ran a 7.014 at 197.05 mph. His run was the seventh quickest and sixth fastest of the final session.
"I think that Team Jeg's looks pretty strong going into to raceday. If we stay focused and everyone does their job we can put this Jeg's machine into the winner's circle in front of our hometown crowd," commented Jeg.
Jeg will face off against V. Gaines in the opening round. Lane choice will go to Coughlin.
