Jeg is ready for race day

The second and final day of qualifying started with Jeg Coughlin sitting in the No. 7 position. The Pro Stock class had only one shot on the track on Friday after the second session was canceled due to weather.

Jeg posted a 6.906 at 199.35 mph to start the second day of qualifying. The yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier made an improvement and moved up to the No. 6 position.

"We knew the uncertainty of the weather could play a big factor today and that obviously was on our minds when we were working on the set up," said Jeg. "We didn't want to be too aggressive and shoot ourselves in the foot."

In the final qualifying session something just didn't feel right to Jeg from the seat of his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier. Jeg launched from the starting line and got as far as third gear and shut it off.

"The car didn't feel right from the start," explained Jeg. "Our team will be burning the midnight oil to solve the problem and be ready for race day."

Jeg landed in the No. 13 spot. He will face off against Warren Johnson in the opening round.
