Treble scheduled for heavy testing

Columbus, OH Post Race Report: If the Pontiac Excitement Nationals revealed anything positive for theMatco Tools Pro Stock Bike team of Craig Treble, it was that the bike can run extremely fast and quick, and can be a contender for the 2003 POWERade title.

Sunday morning at National Trail Raceway, Craig Treble took the win over Antron Brown in round one with a great 7.228, and then lost to Fred Collis with a losing 7.299 @ 181, a run that the Matco Team finds very disappointing.

What put the team out of competition was again the intermittent bogging problem, which has plagued the bike for the last few NHRA POWERade events. "I know what is wrong is probably staring us right in the face, we just have to dig in and find it." Said Treble. "It is really frustrating because we do have a fast bike, and plenty of data on how to run it in the summer heat, but something, somewhere is causing us to be inconsistent."

As the Matco Tools team prepares for the upcoming event in Madison June 12-15, testing will dominate their schedule. "We are going to Madison right away, and plan on doing a lot of testing in the two weeks before the next NHRA national event. Our goal is to win the POWERade Championship this year, so we need to get back on track and run at our potential in Madison."
