Park Ridge, IL (May 30): After a disappointing second round loss in Dallas, Tony Schumacher and his Exide teammates look to rebound in front of the hometown crowd at the 3rd Annual Prestone Route 66 Nationals at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois.

Schumacher not only exited last week's event earlier than expected, but he also lost his NHRA Winston Championship points lead to Gary Scelzi. "We knew it would be tough to keep the points lead all year," said Schumacher, "it will just make us all work harder to get it back from Gary (Scelzi)."

"This is the point of the season where teams start to separate from the rest of the field. We just have to make sure we stay in that front group."

"We should have a great tune-up for this week, since conditions should be similar to last week in Dallas, " Schumacher added, "but then again it's Chicago; if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes."

Schumacher would like nothing more than winning in his hometown. In addition to growing up in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, Schumacher Electric has it's corporate headquarters in neighboring, Mount Prospect.

"It will be absolutely crazy in our hospitality area this weekend with all the friends and family that will be at the track," said Schumacher, "and if we can pick up a win, it will be an unbelievable victory party."

Tuesday evening, Schumacher will be a guest on CLTV's weekly motorsports show, Victory Lane, hosted by Pete Pistone. CLTV is a local Chicagoland 24 hour news channel based in Oakbrook, Illinois and the show will air live at 9pm Central.

The 3rd Annual Prestone Route 66 Nationals will be televised on ESPN2. Both qualifying and final eliminations will be aired. Check local listings for times.
