CONCORD RUNNER-UP HAGAN HOSTED HONORARY CREW MEMBERS

CONCORD, N.C. (Sept. 21, 2009) - When Matt Hagan was tearing through the Funny Car field at the NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway on Sunday to his second final round of the 2009 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, he was supported by two friends who were named Shelor.com Honorary Crew Members by his dad, David Hagan.

David Hagan, owner of a number of automobile dealerships in Christiansburg, Va., selected two Honorary Crew Members for Saturday and Sunday: Roger Marshall and Art Kennard, respectively.

"They have been really good friends of Matt's for many years," said the elder Hagan, "from the beginning of his drag racing career. Actually, Roger was on Matt's crew last year, when he was racing IHRA and the four events in NHRA.

"And he stayed working at the dealership when Matt came to work for Don Schumacher Racing. And Art has been a friend of ours since Matt was a child.

"I just wanted to honor them and show them our appreciation for their loyalty and friendship to Matt and our family."

Marshall enjoyed a fun day of qualifying rounds on Saturday, then joined Kennard to watch Matt reach his second final round of his NHRA career after defeating both Tony and Cruz Pedregon en route to his match-up against eventual winner Robert Hight.
