Carrier Boyz instrumental in securing deal for Dave Connolly
Torco Race Fuels and Gear to sponsor team
Andy and Mark Carrier, the owners of Carrier Boyz Racing, have once again been part of the negotiations to insure that Pro Stock driver Dave Connolly will have a ride throughout the remainder of the 2005 season.
After Carrier Boyz Racing backed Connolly and his team at the O'Reilly Summer Nationals, Brian Olson and the Carrier Boyz opened discussions with Torco Race Fuels and Gear and their owner to become associated with the Pro Stock team headed by rising superstar David Connolly. Those negotiations reached a win-win situation between all the parties involved today.
Torco Race Fuels president and owner Evan Knoll has purchased the entire Bullet Motorsports Chevrolet Cobalt Pro Stock team from Mike Dzurilla. The team will run under the Knoll Gas Motorsports umbrella and will receive primary marketing support from Knoll's company, Torco Race Fuels and Gear.
In addition, Carrier Boyz Racing has become a marketing partner with Torco Race Fuels and Gear, who will become an associate sponsor on the Carrier Boyz Racing FRAM AirHog Top Fuel dragster, driven by Cory McClenathan. The marketing partnership also calls for the Carrier Boyz Racing logo to become a part of the paint scheme on the Torco Race Fuels and Gear Cobalt driven by David Connolly.
"Mark and I, along with longtime friend and associate Brian Olson, are pleased to be a part of this marketing partnership between Carrier Boyz Racing and Torco Race Fuels and Gear," said Andy Carrier. "The negotiations with Evan Knoll produced satisfactory results and kept intact driver Dave Connolly, engine supplier Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, and the entire crew. Mark and I are confident that they will contend for the Pro Stock championship throughout the remainder of 2005.
"Additionally, Mark and I are excited about our new relationship with Evan and Torco Race Fuels and Gear. We see this as a stepping stone in the continued success of Carrier Boyz Racing and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship for both our operations. We are pleased that everything worked out to benefit all parties."
Brian Olson, who will continue his longstanding relationship with Carrier Boyz Racing, will become team manager for the new Knoll Gas Motorsports team and will operate the team from his shop in Peru, Ind.
Knoll is pleased with the outcome and knows that he wouldn't be involved today if it weren't for the hard work of Olson and the Carrier Boyz. "I want to thank Mark and Andy Carrier for recommending this team to me. I want to thank them personally for keeping this team a championship contender. Without them, it would not have happened," said Knoll.
