Jeg Coughlin looks strong.

In the third qualifying session Jeg laid down a 6.919 at 199.46 mph. The run was an improvement over his prior pass and he moved into the No. 10 spot.

The final qualifying session was run after a number of rain delays. The reigning NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Champion continued his trend of improving with each run in the final session. The JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier posted a 6.897 at 198.99 mph and moved back into the No. 10 position.

Jeg Coughlin will line up next to Scott Geoffrion in the opening round. The match up will put a Chevy Cavalier and a Ford Escort into the ring.

"We did not set the world on fire during qualifying," explained Jeg. "We improved with each run down the track. Pro Stock is so competitive that making four consistent runs through qualifying is worth a lot, especially going into race day. We are all up beat going into race day and we will have our games faces on tomorrow (Saturday)."
