FRIDAY RACING ACTION AT BRISTOL CANCELED DUE TO RAIN

BRISTOL, Tenn. (April 29, 2005) -- Due to persistent rains in the Northeastern Tennessee area, NHRA officials were forced to postpone Friday's professional qualifying action at Bristol Dragway.

Two-time NHRA Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon, who earned his 36th career NHRA Top Fuel victory two weeks ago in Las Vegas, entered the Bristol race in third place in the NHRA Top Fuel standings. He sits just 68 points from first place. Dixon, who earned the victory at Bristol Dragway in 2002, and Don Prudhomme's Miller Lite team are scheduled to make qualifying runs at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Thunder Valley.

"Today was a washout and we'll hope the weather is better tomorrow and we'll just have to wait and see what happens," Dixon said.
