BRAINERD, Minn. (August 15) -- Professional Pro Stock driver Richie "The Kid" Stevens and the Mills GM car dealership in Baxter are teaming up to offer a couple of lucky race fans a chance to join a professional race crew for one memorable day. Stevens will be on hand at the Mills GM dealership Thursday to select the duo of helpers who will join him and his Valspar crew during qualifying for the 19th annual Colonel's Truck Accessories Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway.

Would-be crew personnel can register for the honor at Mills GM, located on Highway 371 North at Dellwood Drive in Baxter, throughout the day Thursday. An entry box will be placed right next to Stevens' Valspar Refinish Pontiac Firebird racecar, which will be on display at Mills GM. No purchase is necessary to enter. Fans wishing to meet Stevens in person should stop by Mills GM between the hours of 1-3 p.m. or from 4-6 p.m. when the 21-year-old sensation will be on hand.

In addition to the "Crewperson for a Day" promotion, Mills GM will also be sponsoring Stevens' entry this weekend in an associate capacity.

"Mills GM is proud to be a local sponsor of Richie Stevens and his Valspar Pontiac Firebird," said Brad Van Vickle, general manager of Mills GM. "We wish Richie and his team the very best of luck at BIR this weekend and we look forward to having him and his racecar at our dealership on Thursday."

Team owner Richie Stevens Sr. was equally pleased with the union. "We're very glad to have Mills GM riding with us this weekend," Stevens said. "We hope to get them as much exposure as possible. The more rounds we go on Sunday the better it will be for all of us. I sincerely hope we can make this an annual deal with our friends at Mills GM."
