Jeg Coughlin Jr. earned his first Pro Stock victory at Houston Raceway Park in 1997 in just his second start. Coughlin qualified 14th and defeated Mark Osborne in the final round.

Jeg also won Pro Stock at the 1998 Houston race, defeating Tom Martino in the final and the 2000 Houston event, defeating Jim Yates in the final round.

As a sportsman racer, Jeg tallied his first win at Houston Raceway Park in 1994 when he drove his JEGS Mail Order entry to the Super Stock title.

Jeg enters the 2008 O'Reilly Spring Nationals as the current POWERade points leader in Pro Stock following his recent victory at the AC Delco Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla. He currently leads second-ranked Jason Line by 46 points.

This far in 2008, Jeg has won nine of a possible 12 rounds, earning a win, a runner-up and a semifinal finish in three starts.

In 13 career appearances at Houston Raceway Park, Jeg has a round win record of 22-10 in Pro Stock competition.

Jeg qualified No. 1 at the 2007 Houston event and is the current track record holder with a 6.649 elapsed time. He also set low elapsed time of the meet at the 1999 Houston race with a 6.837.

Jeg has qualified in the top half of the Pro Stock field on four occasions and each time he has reached at least the semifinal round.

Jeg is ranked No. 3 in the K&N Horsepower Challenge standings. The K&N Challenge is a special event that will take place in Norwalk, Ohio on June 28. It is a special $100,000 to win event that is open only to the top eight Pro Stock racers based on their qualifying performance over the previous year.

Current JEGS Pro Mod driver Troy Coughlin has raced at Houston Raceway Park 12 times, 11 in Pro Stock and once in Pro Mod. Troy's best finish is a semifinal in 1997.
