RAIN BRINGS EARLY END TO QUALIFYING IN HOUSTON

Baytown, Texas: Torrential downpours during Saturday's qualifying session for the O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals brought an early end to the weekend for Doug Herbert and the Snap-on Tools Top Fuel dragster.

Coming into Saturday, Herbert sat outside the field after running a 4.72 at 275 mph.

"We made mistakes on Friday," said Herbert. "We got them fixed and looked forward to running strong today, but the weather kept that from happening."

NHRA made the decision to cancel all Saturday qualifying sessions at approximately 7:15 p.m., setting the field based on the runs made Friday.

"We can't control the weather," said Herbert. "We'll pack up and head to Vegas. Everybody on the team knows what we need to do, and we'll get it done."
