Breakage hurts Friday qualifying effort.

A strong run in the first qualifying session at the 16th annual O'Reilly Spring Nationals presented by Pennzoil, Craig Treble put his Matco Tools Pro Stock Bike in the No. 8 spot with a nice 7.197 @ 186.69. The trouble started on the second run after a great 60 foot time. "I hit the one-two shift, and the transmission broke. We had a great 60', and if it would have repeated the backhalf from the first run, it would have put up some good qualifying numbers."

The Matco Tools Pro Stock Bike team spent the night stripping two wounded engines, to come up with a single one that will need to last through Saturday Qualifying, and Sundays eliminations. "Our good good motor isn't ready yet, so hopefully we can get out there tomorrow and get a decent run out this one and qualify better than we are now."

Pro Stock Bike Eliminations tomorrow Sunday, April 13, 2003, at 11am.
