Bradshaw & Meyer hoping to continue title chase in Indy
CLERMONT, Ind. - The 'dynamic duo' of driver Alan Bradshaw and owner/tuner Randy Meyer will enter this weekend's Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, the biggest race in all of drag racing at the famed Indianapolis Raceway Park, with two goals. One, to pick up a win at the prized event, and to further extend their national points lead. The team already has amassed four national event wins this year, and would love to win the biggest of them all to make a perfect five wins in their national points column.
Bradshaw, a practicing chiropractor in Odessa, Texas, not only hopes the Meyer-tuned injected-nitro dragster will stay on the performance tear it has been on this year, but also that he will continue to get some good old fashioned lady luck.
"The team is very focused heading into this weekend," said Bradshaw. "We want to win this weekend not only to keep our national title hopes alive, but because this is Indy, the biggest race of them all. We are going to try our best to ignore all the hype and outside influences that come with running Indy. I hope that the car continues to run the way it has, and I also hope to keep on getting the breaks I have this year. I'll take luck and a bad hot rod any day."
Despite being the driver of the quickest A/Fuel Dragster in the world, Bradshaw and Meyer are hoping for consistency this weekend, not world records.
"We're not going to try to set the world on fire," commented Bradshaw. "Our main goal is to consistently get the car from point A to point B. If we can do that at the performance level we've had this year, that will be our best plan of attack. We want to put this car in the biggest winner's circle in drag racing for all of our sponsors 1-888-CAR WRECK, Go-DragRacing.com, MAR Leasing, Valvoline, Fram, Aeroquip, Meyer Truck Center and Bradshaw Chiropractic Center."
Qualifying will begin on Thursday for the alcohol cars and final eliminations will be ran on Monday. Stay tuned to InsideTopAlcohol.com for the latest news in alcohol racing.
