November 12, 2001 (Valencia, Calif.) - Sean Woodside and Team Walker Motorsports won the 2001 Bud Pole Award for the NASCAR Winston West Series after setting fast time for the fifth time this season in Saturday night's JaniKing 250 Presented by NAPA at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway.

Woodside also set fast time this season at Laguna Seca (Monterey, Calif.), Evergreen Speedway (Monroe, Wash.), Colorado National Speedway (Dacono, Colo.) and in the July Winston West event at Irwindale Speedway.

"We all appreciate the recognition and support that Anheiser Busch provides through the Bud Pole award program," Woodside commented. "It's great to have won the award this year. We have to credit our strong engine program, and thank Bill Maropulus and Bill Lowe for their help and expertise. We also have a dedicated crew that spends long hours at the shop prepping the cars. The 2001 Bud Pole award is something the entire team can take pride in."

Woodside and the team finished the 2001 Winston West season in sixth place in the point standings, with five-top five and eight top-ten finishes, an impressive showing for a team just completing its first full season in the series.
