BOWLES SET TO ADVANCE UP CAMPING WORLD WEST CHAMPIONSHIP CHARTS IN
Title contender returns to home of last year's season-finale triumph
ROSEVILLE, CALIF. (April 2, 2009) -- Jason Bowles resumes his pursuit of the 2009 NASCAR Camping World West Series title on Saturday (April 4th), with the Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 taking place at All American Speedway in Northern California. Currently lying ninth in the championship fight following the season-opener in mid-March, the series standout is poised to advance up the standings at a track where he has previously tasted victory lane champagne.
While Bowles did not get the start he desired to his 2009 campaign in Round One, the first of five races in his home state of California provides him with the opportunity to vault up the championship charts. Piloting the No. 6 Sunrise Ford/Oakley/Joe Gibbs Racing Oil/GS 610/RPM 12/Justice Brothers/Bell Ford, Bowles travels to the 0.3-mile oval having previously achieved success at the Roseville, Calif. race facility. Bowles started P1 and P2 in the previous two NASCAR Camping World West Series races at All American Speedway, winning the 2008 season-finale.
"I'm really excited to go back to Roseville," stated Bowles. "We closed out the 2008 season with a win there, and I am hoping to be able to put the No. 6 Sunrise Ford Fusion back into victory lane. After the opening race of the year I really want to turn things around early here and get the momentum going. We are bringing the same car that we won with, so I have confidence that we will again be battling for the win."
Round Two of the NASCAR Camping World West Series gets underway at 1:35 p.m. local time, with the first of two 45-minute timed practices. Single-car qualifying is scheduled to commence at 5:00 p.m., followed by the green flag for the Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at 8:00 p.m. Bowles enters the single-day event at All American Speedway ninth in the championship standings, four points back of eighth place.
