HOLMES EYES A THREE-PEAT IN ROSEVILLE
ANTELOPE, CA. Eric Holmes, #20 Napa Auto Parts Toyota Camry is looking for the top spot on the podium with a three-peat performance, in more ways than one, as he prepares for the NASCAR Camping World Series Toyota Copart 150 season finale on September 26, at the All American Speedway in Roseville. Getting in his way is likely to be Jason Bowles in the #6 Sunrise Ford- Ford. Both will need to be ready for a strong performance by rookie Paulie Harraka, in the #12 NAPA AutoCare Toyota Camry with seven top ten wins in his first NCWS season.
As the 2006 and 2008 Camping World Series West Champion, Eric Holmes has hopes he can surpass Jason Bowles, currently in the lead by 78 points, for his third Series championship. Statistically it can happen. The All American Speedway is home to another battle between these two fierce competitors. In March of 2008 it was Holmes in first, Bowles in second. In October 2008 Bowles arrived first, Harraka second. In March 2009 Holmes takes first and Bowles, second. A victory on Saturday would give Holmes a three-peat on his home track.
All of the top ten drivers in the Series will be battling for points to finish the season. Currently in fifth position is Paulie Harraka, a NASCAR Drive-for-Diversity driver, in his first full season in the Camping World West Series. Harraka is the 2008 Late Model Track Champion at AAS, and has had six top five finishes, with one win at the Colorado Speedway this year. He is considered the top candidate for the 2009 Rookie of the Year award.
