HOLMES WINS NASCAR CAMPING WORLD SERIES OPENER

ROSEVILLE, Calif. (March 29, 2008) -- Eric Holmes achieved a few milestones, updated some personal statistics and, by the way, won the season-opening Toyota NAPA Auto Care 150 for the NASCAR Camping World Series West at All American Speedway.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for both the Camping World Series West and Camping World Series East programs. The bias-ply Eagles the teams used on the tight, one-third mile All American oval gave consistent performance throughout the 153-lap race.

Holmes led every lap. He averaged 43.577 mph for the distance of the race, but his victory margin was just .478 of a second. It was the second consecutive victory for Holmes, who won the final race of the 2007 season. It was his first win for car owner Bill McAnally.

The win was the first in the CWSW for Toyota.

David Mayhew finished second, followed by Mike David, Johnny Boreman and Holmes' teammate, Moses Smith. Borneman and Smith started next to each other on the tenth row.

The event was extended three extra laps after a late race incident brought about a caution period. Jason Bowles won the Coors Light Pole Award with a lap averaging 85.874 mph. There were six states and two nations represented by drivers.
