PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The driver with the most overall career wins at Phoenix International Raceway added another trophy to his collection as Ken Schrader drove to victory in the NASCAR Grand National Division, AutoZone West Series United Rentals 125 on Sunday.
Schrader, a regular in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, charged into the lead 16 laps from the finish and went on to win by margin of .128 of a second over Eric Holmes. NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series competitor Matt Kobyluck finished third.
Schrader battled 18-year-old Spencer Clark throughout most of the race. Clark started from the pole and led the most laps, but faded to fourth in the closing stages. Peyton Sellers, last year's national champion in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series, finished fifth in his series debut.
The 125-lap race marked the beginning of the 53rd season for the West's oldest stock car racing circuit.
