NASCAR Camping World Series Returns to Miller Motorsports Park This Weekend
TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (July 31, 2008) -- The Tooele Valley will be reverberating with the rumble of stock cars this weekend as the NASCAR Camping World Series returns to Miller Motorsports Park.
This will be the series' second visit to Miller Motorsports Park. The NASCAR Camping World Series competitors will have two one-hour practice sessions on Friday, with qualifying set for 10:10 am on Saturday. Pre-race ceremonies for the 1.5-hour race will begin at 1:15 pm, with the green flag scheduled for 1:30 pm.
Support races for the NASCAR Camping World Series include the Pacific F2000 Championship, a developmental series utilizing open-wheel formula cars powered by 2.0-liter Ford four-cylinder engines similar to miniature Indy Cars, and the Miller Park Racing Association, a multi-class road racing series based at Miller Motorsports Park.
Off-track entertainment for fans includes Sim Races on Friday evening and mid-morning Saturday. For prices starting at $20, fans will be able to strap into a race car and ride along with a professional driver in a simulated race with another car. This was a huge crowd-pleaser last year and should be equally popular this year. Coinciding with the Sim Races will be pit walks, where the fans can come out on the pit lane, where the race cars will be displayed, and see the cars up close and meet the teams and drivers. These will take place at 5:50 pm on Friday and 11:10 am on Saturday.
In addition, there will be live music throughout the weekend, including Miller Motorsports Park's own Lloyd & Floyd and the High Octanes. A new offering this weekend will be rides in off-road rock-climbing vehicles on Miller Motorsports Park's new off-road course.
Admission will be free to everyone on Friday, August 1. Tickets for Saturday, August 2, are priced at $25 for general admission and $40 for grandstand seats. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free of charge on Saturday.
