DRIVE FOR DIVERSITY PARTICIPANTS BATTLE IN EAST/WEST SHOWDOWN

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 21, 2007) -- Drive for Diversity participants Jesus Hernandez and Jonathan Smith had a successful weekend as the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East and West Series faced off in the Midwest. Hernandez and Smith raced at Elko Speedway in Elko, Minn. Friday night, before heading 240 miles southeast to Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa on Sunday afternoon.

Hernandez finished third at Iowa Speedway in his Ginn Racing Chevrolet, after starting the race in the 23rd position. The finish at Iowa was Hernandez's second top-10 of the weekend; He finished seventh at Elko Speedway, after qualifying 10th.

"We've been building up to this all season," said Hernandez. "The team is working hard and we've been getting better every week. This was a great weekend for us."

Hernandez's efforts this weekend moved him into fourth in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series standings.

Smith also had a solid points weekend, jumping thirteen spots from 32nd to 19th in the Busch East Standings after finishing 22nd at Elko Speedway in his Motion Racing Chevrolet. Smith had another solid run at Iowa Speedway, finishing 14th overall and fifth among Busch East Series competitors.

Hernandez and Smith will be back in action on June 8, when the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series makes its next stop at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Va.

Drive for Diversity participant Peter Hernandez was also in action this weekend in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C. Hernandez finished sixth, after qualifying 14th.

Hernandez will return to action at Caraway Speedway for Spraker Racing Enterprises this Saturday, May 26.
