NASCAR WEST SERIES TO COMPETE ON CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY ROAD COURSE

The NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series announced its 2007 schedule, which includes a unique and new event to California Speedway, on Tuesday.

The NASCAR West Series will compete on the auto competition road course, continuing a 10 year tradition this regional racing series has enjoyed at the Southern California motorsports venue. Only this time, they will turn right and left as the up-and-coming racers compete on the 2.8-mile, 21-turn road course that uses portions of the NASCAR oval, including the frontstretch of the banked oval and the start/finish line, and weaves through the infield.

The California Speedway NASCAR West Series event is tentatively scheduled for August 11 and will replace the event previously held on Labor Day weekend.
