NASCAR Top 10 At A Glance - A Look at the NASCAR Elite Division, Featherlite Southwest Series Top 10 Drivers

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 24, 2003) - The following is a glance at the NASCAR Elite Division, Featherlite Southwest Series Top 10 in the series championship standings heading into the Lucas Oil "125" presented by Madera Auto Center at Madera Speedway Saturday, July 26. The race in Madera, Calif. will be race 8 of 14 on the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series schedule:

No. 1 - Auggie Vidovich Jr. (No. 59 PG Series Chevrolet), Vidovich Racing.
Last week's ranking: 1st. Vidovich tallied another top-ten performance with an eighth place finish at Mesa Marin Raceway. Vidovich still leads the point standings over Pettit by 72 markers going into the race at Madera Speedway. Vidovich has been at the top spot for six straight races and is the only driver to complete all laps contested in 2003 (927).

No. 2 - Jim Pettit II (No. 03 Hall Kinion.Com Ford), Bay Pac Racing.
Last week's ranking: 2nd. Pettit returns to second place in the standings, moving up from the third position. Pettit scored a runner-up finish at Mesa Marin to record his fourth top ten finish of the season.

No. 3 - Eric Holmes (No. 62 Wild Cherry Pepsi Chevrolet), Beebe Motorsports.
Last week's ranking: 3rd. Holmes finished outside the top ten for only the second time this season with a 15th place effort at Mesa Marin. Holmes maintains third in the overall standings and strengthens his bid for the series championship in 2003.

No. 4 - Dan Holtz (No. 23 Rialto Concrete Products Ford), Thompson Racing.
Last week's ranking: 5th. Holtz scored his third top five finish of the season after a third place performance at Mesa Marin June 28th. Holtz climbs one position in the standings and closed to within 137 points of Vidovich. Holtz did not compete in the event at Madera Speedway in 2002.

No. 5 - JR Patton (No. 97 Las Cruces Motorsports Chevrolet), Las Cruces Motorsports.
Last week's ranking: 8th. Patton continues to make his climb in the NASCAR Top 10 after a solid sixth place performance at Mesa Marin Raceway June 28th. Patton scored his third top ten finish of the season and leads the Victory Circle Rookie-of-the-Year standings by 10 points after seven events.

No. 6 - Bryan Germone (No. 89 Wine.Com Chevrolet), Koster Motorsports.
Last week's ranking: 6th. Germone maintains the sixth position in the NASCAR Top 10 for the second straight race after a 10th place finish at Mesa Marin. Germone has four top ten finishes in seven starts in 2003. Germone is the leading money winner so far this season with $17,460.

No. 7 - Eddy McKean (No. 19 Beach Boys Pontiac), McKean Racing.
Last week's ranking: 4th. McKean drops three positions in the NASCAR Top 10 after finishing last at Mesa Marin June 28th. The 2002 series champion has struggled to find the luck that propelled him to the 2002 series crown. In seven 2003 starts, he has only three top ten finishes. McKean finished 2nd at Madera Speedway last season after starting 16th.

No. 8- Craig Raudman (No. 2 HPS Mechanical Chevrolet), Victory Circle Racing.
Last week's ranking: 8th. Raudman maintains the 8th position for the second straight race after a 4th place performance at Mesa Marin June 28th. In seven 2003 starts, Raudman has two top five and three top ten finishes. Last season Raudman did not compete at Madera Speedway, but he does have two top five finishes with his best finish of 3rd back in 1996.

No. 9 - David Gilliland (No. 97 Las Cruces Motorsports Chevrolet), Las Cruces Motorsports.
Last week's ranking: 13th. Gilliland scored his second victory of the 2003 season with a last lap pass of then leader Auggie Vidovich. The win vaults Gilliland into the NASCAR Top 10 for the first time this season. Gilliland has two wins, with two top five and four top ten performances in seven races. Gilliland did not compete in the event at Madera Speedway last season.

No. 10 - Todd Souza (No. 6 Central Coast Cabinets Ford), Souza Racing.
Last week's ranking: 7th. Souza falls three spots after a disappointing 25th place finish at Mesa Marin June 28th. Souza has two top five and three top ten finishes in eight 2003 starts. Souza finished 7th at Madera Speedway last season.
