DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Mar. 27, 2003) - The following is a glance at the NASCAR Elite Division, Featherlite Southwest Series Top 10 in the series championship heading into the COORS Light "125" at Cajon Speedway April 5. The race in El Cajon, Calif. will be race 3 of 14 on the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series schedule:

No. 1 - Auggie Vidovich Jr. (No. 59 PG Series Chevrolet), Vidovich Racing. Last week's ranking: 3. Vidovich continued his mastery of the Mesa Marin Raceway high-banks with a second place finish last Saturday. He tops the point standings for the first time this season by 23 over McKean. Vidovich has two top-five finishes at Cajon Speedway and considers the facility his home track as he hails from nearby Lakeside, Calif.

No. 2 - Eddy McKean (No. 19 Magic Valley Pipe Pontiac), McKean Racing. Last week's ranking: 2. McKean stays in second place in the standings for the second straight race. A late race tangle with Vidovich relegated McKean to an 8th place finish at Mesa Marin. McKean finished 9th at Cajon last year in his only series start at the track.

No. 3 - Craig Raudman (No. 2 HPS Chevrolet), Victory Circle Racing. Last week's ranking: 7. Raudman continues his climb up the ladder jumping four spots. Raudman finished 13th at MMR after losing a lap in the pits for passing the pace car. Raudman has two wins and three top-five finishes at Cajon Speedway with his last win coming in 1999.

No. 4 - Bryan Germone (No. 89 Drivetech Chevrolet), Koster Motorsports. Last week's ranking: 1. Germone suffered some of that unfortunate racing luck at Mesa Marin. He finished 25th after being involved in an accident on lap 139. Germone has six top-five performances at Cajon Speedway with his best finish of second coming in 1998.

No. 5 - Darrell LaMoure (No. 94 NAPA Chevrolet), Desert Thunder Motorsports. Last week's ranking: 10. LaMoure drove to a 16th place finish at Mesa Marin Raceway finishing two laps down, but jumps five positions in the point standings. LaMoure did not compete in the race at Cajon last season, and has a best finish of fourth back in 1999.

No. 6 - Randy Nelson (No. 68 Nelson Motorsports Chevrolet), Nelson Motorsports. Last week's ranking: 11. Nelson is in his first year of racing in the Featherlite Southwest Series and is currently in a six-way tie for the Victory Circle Chassis ROTY point lead. Nelson left Mesa Marin Raceway with a 15th place finish and joins the top-ten for the first time this season.

No. 7 - Frank Deiny Jr. (No. 70 Star Nursery Chevrolet), Q Motorsports. Last week's ranking: 5. Deiny falls to 7th from 5th after suffering from on-track contact at Mesa Marin Raceway. Deiny finished the 200-lap event on the hook in 24th place. Deiny had the fastest car at MMR for most of the race and moved up to second in the running order by lap 80. Deiny has been in the top-ten for two straight races. Deiny is another Victory Circle Chassis ROTY competitor that is tied for first in the rookie standings.

No. 8 - Burney Lamar (No. 16 Camacho's Cantina Chevrolet), CBA Motorsports. Last week's ranking: 13. Lamar finished 14th at Mesa Marin Raceway after losing a lap mid-way through the event, but jumps into the top-ten for the first time this season. Lamar nearly won the race at Cajon Speedway last season after leading 124-1/2 laps but drifted wide out of turn two allowing M.K. Kanke a small hole and the opportunity to dart to the inside.

No. 9 - Kevin Vernon (No. 51 Action Towing Chevrolet), Vernon Racing. Last week's ranking: 16. Vernon joins the 2003 Victory Circle Chassis Rookie class after three track championships at Mesa Marin Raceway. Vernon finished 11th at his home track and joins the top-ten for the first time this season.

No. 10 - JR Patton (No. 97 Twin Pine Casino Chevrolet), Las Cruces Motorsports. Last week's ranking: 6. Patton is the fourth rookie to join the top-ten this week, but falls from 6th to 10th in the standings after a 23rd place finish at Mesa Marin Raceway. Patton will attempt to qualify for his first career Cajon Speedway start April 5.
