** Featherlite Southwest Series (NASCAR Touring): Paul Menard passed Winston Cup star Ken Schrader on the final lap to win the Cruise America 125 at Phoenix International Raceway in Phoenix, Ariz.

While Menard was winning the final battle, Eddy McKean was busy winning the war. McKean finished 24th in the race, but gathered enough points to win the 2002 Series championship.

Schrader finished second, Dan Holtz was third, 2000 Series champion Matt Crafton came home fourth and 2002 Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series champion Kevin Hamlin rounded out the top five.

Burney Lamar won his fifth Bud Pole Award of the season with a lap averaging 131.420 mph around the one-mile oval.
