DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (August 21, 2003) - NASCAR officials have announced two penalties following rules infractions by two competitors in the Aug. 16 NASCAR Elite Division, Featherlite Southwest Series event at Colorado National Speedway.

Jerry Robertson, driver of car No. 75, was fined $2,500 and penalized under section 12-4-A of the 2003 NASCAR rule book: actions detrimental to stock car racing, section 12-4-Q: any determination by NASCAR officials that parts and/or equipment used in the event do not conform to NASCAR rules; altered carburetor throttle body (base plate) and section 12-4-EE: use of four (4) altered tires. Robertson was fined $500 for each altered tire and $500 for the carburetor base plate infraction.

Robert Johns, crew chief for the No. 11 car driven by David Gilliland, was fined $500 and penalized under section 12-4-A of the 2003 NASCAR rule book: actions detrimental to stock car racing, and section 12-4-Q: any determination by NASCAR officials that parts and/or equipment used in the event do not conform to NASCAR rules; altered carburetor throttle body (base plate).
