Bakersfield, Calif. (October 20, 2001) Darrell LaMoure of Phoenix, Ariz. scored his first career Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring victory Saturday night by making a thrilling last lap pass of race leader Craig Raudman at half-mile high baked oval of Mesa Marin Raceway. LaMoure collected $4,950 for the win driving the NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet was followed to the line by Craig Raudman of Bakersfield, Calif. in his Yerf-Dog Chevrolet. Raudman won his 8th Bud Pole Award of the season and led 147 of the 150 laps before his car began to give up bite in the corner. LaMoure seized his opportunity and got a run on the four-time winner this season and drove his car low out of turn two and gained the position as the duo exited turn four. Following LaMoure and Raudman to the line were Rookie leader Scott Brandt in third, Nick Joanides in fourth, and rounding out the top five was series Ironman Bob Lyon.
