Following his second place finish at Altamont Raceway Park Saturday night, M. K. Kanke now finds himself third in the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series point standings. Five races ago, the Frazier, Park, CA. resident was in 6th place.

Saturday night also saw MK pick up his fourth Bud Pole Award of the season, beating out NASCAR Busch Grand National regulars Ron Hornaday and Kevin Harvick who had the weekend off and made guest appearances at the half mile oval.

This Saturday night, the Southwest Series will be making it's third appearance of the season at the Irwindale Speedway half mile oval for the Food For Less 150. Back in April, MK took the Colorado Springs, CO. based Bonicelli Racing Team's Buyer's Choice - Western Funding - Shilo Inn's Pontiac to a second place finish at Irwindale that saw the top three cars less than two car lengths apart at the checkered.
