IRWINDALE, Calif. (May 29, 2004) Burney Lamar of West Sacramento, Calif. collected his fourth career NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest Series victory Saturday night at Irwindale (CA) Speedway when he pass then Rip Michels with 12 laps to go in the AutoZone "150". Craig Raudman crossed the line second, with Zach Niessner finishing third. Greg Voigt and Jim Pettit II rounded out the top five finishers.

Raudman increased his points lead to 47 markers over Pettit, with Lamar vaulting into third place in the championship standings after six of 14 races on the 2004 schedule. Eddy McKean and Eric Holmes round out the five in the standings.

The race featured three lead changes among four drivers and was completed in just over an hour at an average speed of 70.773 mph. The next race on the Southwest Series schedule is Saturday, June 26 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.
