LaMoure excited too be back in action.

Phoenix, Ariz. (August 8, 2002) Darrell LaMoure of Phoenix, Arizona will make his 2002 Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touing return Saturday at Irwindale Speedway in the Auto Club "150".

Lamoure suffered neck injuries in a pre-season practice accident that sidelined what was suppose to be a championship run. For the past seven months, LaMoure was forced to concentrate his efforts on healing and rehabilitation.

The series veteran focused his total attention on that task, just like he does when he is behind the wheel of his #94 NAPA Auto Care Centers Chevrolet. His determination to win was only matched by his determination to get back in the race car.

This past Friday he was given clearence by his doctor and LaMoure took to that news like a kid on Christmas morning tearing into his presents. "The doc said he had no concerns or issues. He told me to come back and see him after I took a couple of good hits," LaMoure said with a grin.

"I am just happy to be back doing what I love and I wouldn't be in the car unless I was 100%. My car looks good and has lots of power." LaMoure will continue to bring awareness through his efforts for Racing for the Missing. Napa Auto Care Centers will be on the familiar yellow #94 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

LaMoure plans to compete in the final four races of the 2002 campaign as he prepares for a run at the championship in 2003. LaMoure won his first career race last October at Mesa Marin Raceway, and finished a career high third in the final point standings in 2001.
