Raudman Sees Survival at Madera as Key Factor

Rancho Santa Margarita, California (July 25, 2001) - Craig Raudman, driver of Dave Reed Racing's #2 Yerf-dog Fun Karts/ITPS/Kingston Chevrolet in the Featherlite Southwest Series, NASCAR Touring, is doing everything he can to make sure he's the top survivor in this Saturday's Foods Co 125 at Madera Speedway in Madera, Calif.

"Madera is a survival track," Raudman said of this Saturday's event. "It's a narrow track, so the biggest thing is staying clean and working through lapped traffic. Tires tend to fall off fast, so tire management will be important, also."

If his recent test session at Madera is any indication, Raudman will be a threat to continue his domination over this season's Southwest Series competition. Raudman's times were great and the car is as strong as ever.

Raudman continued, "The test session was good, and gave us the confidence that we can look for a good run this weekend. We're grateful to be leading the points, but we're planning to continue our policy of racing to win. If we win, we get the points and we will extend our lead. The most important thing is to concentrate on each race as an opportunity for a win."

Raudman quickly recovered from a slow start to his season, and is the current points leader in the series. He has two wins and five top-five finishes already in the books this season. Raudman has won six Bud Pole Awards this season, and recently broke the record by setting fast time in five consecutive events.
