NASCAR Elite Division Officials announce Penalty

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 16, 2003) - NASCAR Elite Division officials have announced a penalty following Saturday's Kodak Southeast Series race at Huntsville (Ala.) Speedway. Zachary Gilbert, crew chief for the No. 19 Chevrolet driven by Steven Howard, was fined $300 and penalized under section 12-4-A of the 2003 NASCAR rule book: actions detrimental to stock car racing and section 12-4-Q: any determination by NASCAR officials that parts and/or equipment used in the event do not conform to NASCAR rules, improperly attached weight. This infraction was found on the No. 19 car prior to qualifying at Huntsville.
