EVENT REVIEW: This event was the second of three events at Nashville Speedway USA in 2000 with yet another first time winner stopping in victory lane with the Gatorade All Pro Series. Eddie Hoffman, who competes on the RE/MAX Challenge Series, NASCAR Touring took the point on lap 122 when first half race leader Scott Carlson pitted during the sixth race caution. Hoffman pitted earlier and led the remaining 79 laps . Carlson started the event from the Bud Pole with his first NASCAR career pole start having an excellent run for the Florida driver finishing fourth. A serious Incident occurred on the fifth caution of the night when the cars of Ken Weaver and Scott Kilby made Contact in turn one. Kilby's car became engulfed in flames but no injuries. Another caution on lap 121 in turn two took out a number of top cars and during this caution Carlson pitted handing the lead to Hoffman which he held to the end of the event.
NOTE OF INTEREST:
(1) Wayne Anderson is the winningest current series driver to compete at this track with three wins.
(2) Eddie Mercer has three career Bud Pole start at this track, more than any other driver.
(3) Hoffman established a new race record in this event last September.
