(Woodstock, GA) Justin Wakefield, pilot of the #98 Carswell Motorsports Ford Taurus will return to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this weekend (July 26) for the rescheduled Time Warner 150 at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Wakefield is anxious to return to the paved oval as the team spent a day testing before the original scheduled race date.
"We had a good test session back in May, and I felt good about our chances," commented Justin from his shop in Woodstock, GA. "The team has worked real hard this season giving me good competitive cars, and I am very much enjoying my rookie season in the Kodak Southeast Series," said Justin.
Justin is currently 9th in the NASCAR Kodak Southeast Series championship point standings, just 75 points outside of the top-five going into the eighth event of the 10 event schedule. Wakefield has rallied for three top-10 and one top-5 finishes thus far this season. Wakefield's last outing with the NASCAR Kodak Southeast Series was at Huntsville Speedway in Huntsville, AL where Justin finished 17th.
"We broke a rocker arm and a cam in at Hunstville, so I was basically riding around collecting points to stay in the championship points chase," states Wakefield. "We took a hit in points coming out of Huntsville, but I am very confident in our team that we will rebound in South Carolina and move forward," concluded Justin.
