Justin Wakefield scores first top-10 finish of season in the NASCAR Autozone Elite Division, Southeast Series

(Woodstock, GA) Justin Wakefield, driver of the #98 Gang Run Direct Ford Taurus, produced a 10th place finish at Houston Raceway Park in Houston, TX on May 8th for the Leak Sealer 150 NASCAR Autozone Elite Division, Southeast Series sanctioned event.

"I had a good run going in the early laps of the race," said Wakefield. "The car was handling good, but I got pushed up the track a little and spun it around, which sent me to the back. By the end of the event, I worked my way back into the top-10. Overall, it was a good finish for the Gang Run Direct team," commented Justin.

Wakefield started the event in 3rd place, his best starting position thus far this season.

"We had a very good qualifying run in the Gang Run Direct Taurus, and I felt that we had a very good chance to win the race," said Wakefield of his 10th place finish at Houston Raceway Park. "We put a brand new engine in the car right before we went to Houston, so the car was running the best it had all season."

Justin's previous events this season on the NASCAR Autozone Elite Division, Southeast Series yielded the Georgia native a 15th place finish at Music City Motorplex in Nashville, TN and a 22nd place finish at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, NC.

"Our performance on the track has not reflected the effort and capability of this race team," commented Wakefield. "We have had good race cars, but a few misfortunes on the track have cost us solid finishes. I feel confident that this team can move forward and achieve our goal with a top-5 championship point finish," concluded Justin.

Justin and the Gang Run Direct team will return to the NASCAR Autozone Elite Division, Southeast Series on June 5th for the rescheduled Rock 101 150 at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.
