Fontaine Finishes 26th at Kentucky; Moves up Two Spots to 26th

Chris Fontaine in the Discount Auto Parts/Suntrust #46 Monte Carlo finished last Friday's Kentucky 150 in 26th position. The finish moves Chris up two spots to 26th of 64 in the 2001 NASCAR All Pro points race.During practice the #46 broke a valve lifter and Chris had to run the race on only 7 cylinders.

The race was his first restrictor plate race, and he ran over 140 mph despite the plate and lifter. "It was an incredible experience not to have to lift the throttle, and it was fun experiencing the draft," Chris said. During qualifying Chris took a provisional to start in 38th position of 40. Rain delayed the race for over two hours, but once racing got under way, the CJF Racing pit crew got a chance to show their stuff, changing all four tires and gassing the car during a pit stop in front of 22,418 fans.

The next event for the Gatorade All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring will be on July 3 at South Boston (VA) Speedway for the South Boston Speedway, NASCAR Triple Header.
