(Hardeeville, SC) October 9, 2003- Savannah, GA native Dusty Williams, driver of the Dixie Excavating Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the NASCAR Kodak Southeast Series, has committed to several hours worth of practice today at the Hardeeville Motor Speedway as he is preparing for competition at the "Toyota All Star Showdown", to be held in Irwindale, CA on November 6-8, 2003. Williams completed his first year in the Kodak Southeast Series (a Touring Series of NASCAR) with a 10th place finish, only 3 points behind another local driver AJ Frank of Bluffton, SC. The 3-day event will bring together for the first time, top drivers in the NASCAR Grand National and Elite Divisions to compete for over $500,000 in posted awards.

Williams said his goal in testing at Hardeeville Motor Speedway "was to test the car as far as the turns are concerned, Hardeeville and Irwindale are very, very similar as they both use a progressive type of turn, banked at 12 degrees at the top." In the scheduled heat races in Irwindale, Williams has already earned himself a spot on the front row, on the outside pole. "We want to get as much exposure as possible", said Williams, "starting on the front row during the heat race is as about as best position to be in as you can get." When asked on parity in NASCAR Touring races, Williams added, "it doesn't matter what part of the country you come from, we're all pretty much the same." Williams did add one comment for the "hometown" drivers from the West Coast and Southwest Tours, advising them "don't expect to be upfront where you always have been". His confidence in his abilities and in his car might just take the young driver from Savannah, GA to the checkered flag when he rolls in at Irwindale, CA.

The "Toyota All Star Showdown" can be seen on Speedvision network, airing live on November 8, 2003.

The Hardeeville Motor Speedway is located on US Hwy 17 just 2 miles south of Hardeeville, SC at exit 5 from I-95 and 10 minutes north of Savannah, GA. For more information contact the Speedway offices at 843-784-7223 or go online at www.hardeevillespeedway.com
