FIELD: 32 Cars. Twenty-seven starting positions will be determined through two laps of qualifying. Positions 28 - 29 will be available to any driver in the top 30 2001 Gatorade All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring Championship point standings who has not qualified for one of the original 27 positions, provided eligible driver attempts to qualify in qualifying events. Provisional postions 30 - 31 are available to any top 30 car owner in the current 2001 points standing who has not qualified for one of the original 27 positions and provisional position 32 will be for a past champion who ran in 2000 on the series. Cautions will count towards total laps and the race can end with a checkered flag or a green-white-checkered situation. <pre> RECORDS: DRIVER DATE TIME/SPEED Qualifying: Bobby Gill July 27 1991 20.525 Secs/109.622 mph 200-Lap: New Record Will Be Set </pre> EVENT REVIEW: This racetrack provides so much history for drivers on the Gatorade All Pro Series, NASCAR Touring. So many NASCAR stars, past and present, started at this track and include Stanley Smith, Darrell Brown and Charlie Bradberry who will be in the field for this event. There will be many new drivers competing in this event who have never raced at this track but the long straightaways will be similar to the previous event at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. A close Wireway Husky, Corp. Rookie-of-the-Year Program is developing between Jody Lavender, Richie Beasley, Roger Parker, Bradberry Wayne Bowen, Michael Britt, Jeff Myers and Chris Fontaine. <pre> NOTES OF INTEREST: (1) This will be the first visit for NASCAR to this since 1991 when a 250-lap event was run.
