Three nights of racing at the PAS this week!

(LAKE PERRIS, CA - JULY 1) Fans looking for racing action this week need to look no farther than Perris Auto Speedway in Riverside County. Commonly referred to as the most modern and cleanest dirt racetrack in the World, fans can catch races at The PAS Thursday through Saturday nights.

Kicking off the action will be the Vista Paint presented NAPA Auto Parts/Auto Trader Magazines SCRA Sprint Cars on July 4th. As soon as their main event takes the checkered flag, Budweiser and the Press Enterprise will light up the sky with the best fireworks show in Riverside County.

The last time SCRA was at The PAS on June 22nd, defending Series Champion Cory Kruseman of Ventura captured one of the most incredible finishes in Sprint Car racing history! Kruseman and Concord's Damion Gardner had traded the lead back and forth several times over the final four laps and 50-yards from the finish line they touched. Kruseman got the win going forward while popular newcomer Gardner claimed second while crossing the finish line backwards! Both drivers received a rousing standing ovation from the fans.

Three time (1998, 1999 and 2000) SCRA Champion Richard "The Gassman" Griffin, of Silver City, New Mexico, won the SCRA main event at Las Vegas last Saturday night.

Sometime during Thursday's program, Oval Entertainment, LLC/Perris Auto Speedway President Don Kazarian is going to make a MAJOR announcement regarding the Seventh Annual Oval Nationals on October 31st, November 1st and 2nd. Fans around the Sprint Car world will be pleased and excited about what they are going to hear!

On Friday and Saturday, The PAS will host the Dwarf and Lightening Sprint Car National Championships. Heat races will be held on Friday with all of the preliminary mains and championship events taking place on Saturday.

Dwarf Cars are scaled down versions of 1930 and 1940s Couples while Lightening Sprint Cars are mini versions of the popular World of Outlaws Winged Sprint Cars. Motorcycle engines power both.

Last year more than 80 Dwarf Cars from around the United States showed up for the Nationals. El Cajon's Jim Scribellito walked off with the trophy. The show met with such success that PAS management decided to host the event again and add Lightning Sprint Cars to the card. There be as many as 150 racecars on hand for both nights of action.
