It's Been Quite A Ride for National Fruit Product Company, Huffman and the White House Racing Team
Winchester, VA (November 5, 2003) -- Robert Huffman recently won his fifth NASCAR Goody's Dash Series championship this season, four of them as the driver for the White House brand owned by National Fruit Product Company, Inc. in Winchester, Virginia. Huffman's win marks his final appearance as a Goody's Dash Series driver, which has been dropped by NASCAR.
"It's been quite a ride with Robert over the last eight years," said William Armstrong, assistant vice president of National Fruit Product Company and makers of White House products. "Robert was recently voted the most popular driver in the Series for the second time and has been a great value for us, both in his abilities as a professional race car driver and spokesperson. He has given us the added exposure to loyal NASCAR fans in our Southeastern market and, in turn, we've shared in his victories through our sponsorship."
According to the 35-year-old Claremont, North Carolina native, National Fruit has provided him with the opportunity to do what he loves to do best--race cars for a living. "The support of National Fruit, the White House Racing Team, and Toyota, resulted in a winning combination for all involved," said Huffman.
Huffman and White House
"What I value most out of my relationship with White House is their focus on tradition and heritage. I'm a family-oriented kind of person and National Fruit Product Company has been a family-owned and operated business since 1908," he added. "In many ways I feel as if I'm part of their extended family. They've watched me grow and develop professionally over the years as I've moved up in the Dash Series and in turn, I've made them proud. I've seen the same folks at my races time-after-time and when I visit their offices, it's like coming home. It's one thing to see your sponsor attend your races and another to be given the support you need that goes beyond dollars," said Huffman.
Huffman will continue his quest to drive and win under the Craftsman Truck Series, a national circuit.
"While we're still weighing our options for next year, we'd like to thank Robert for a great eight years and wish him well and much success in his future endeavors," said Armstrong.
