WHAT: The Bi-Mart Spring Fling featuring the 700 horsepower-360 Sprint Cars of the hy-per-lube Northern Sprint Tour competing on the historic Portland Speedway half-mile clay oval. Joining the NST Sprint Cars will be Portland Speedway's NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Grand American Modifieds for their first race on the half-mile clay oval.
WHEN: Saturday, May 12, 2001. Gates open at 4pm, with Qualifying Heats at 6:30pm with Trophy Dashes and Main Events to follow.

NOTES OF INTERESTS:
* This is the second visit by the NST since the racetrack converted to a clay-racing surface, and the first of three stops this season.
* Dave Menne of California won the inaugural event held last August. The victory was his first in four years on the tour.
* "Tiger" Tom Pinkowsky won his first dirt-racing event last Friday (May 4), returning to weekly competition after several years of competing on the Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series, NASCAR Touring division. Pinkowsky is a three-time Portland Speedway champion in the track's former asphalt Late Model Stock Car division.
* Three-time and defending Northern Sprint Tour champion Shawna Wilskey is the most successful female racecar driver in North America.
