1999 REVIEW: For the second consecutive year, Ricky Bryant took home top honors with the Goody's Dash Series race at Orange County Speedway. Just as in 1998 when he started on the front row by winning the Bud Pole, in '99 he started on the front row but outside front row with polesitter Chad Branham. He wasted little time establishing his dominance as he took the point on the first lap leading a total of 59 laps in the 125-lap race. The race was slowed by seven cautions for a total of 35 laps with the most serious incident occuring on lap 91 when a spinning car collected the cars of Jimmy Britts and Robert Huffman who were running first and second at the time. Britts was able to recover and finish fourth while Huffman had the first of two DNF's of the '99 season. Without a doubt Bryant was the dominate driver of the 90's at Orange County Speedway with the Goody's Dash Series. 1999 Top 10 SURGE 125 AT Stats: Orange County Speedway Bud Pole: Chad Branham 1. (3) 1999 Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Champion Robert Huffman had one of two DNF's of 1999 in this event last year.
