Jefferson wins Costco 125 at Tri-City Raceway.

West Richland, Wash. April 27, 2002-Jeff Jefferson made the best of his second start of the day in NASCAR Touring action by capturing the Costco 125 at Tri-City Raceway on the Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series.

Jefferson had started last in the Winston West race earlier in the morning at California Speedway. He moved to ninth before a blown motor ended his day.

After taking a flight from Ontario, Calf. to Pasco, Wash., Jefferson qualified his D&G Bodyworks Chevrolet on the pole and started fourth based on a four-car invert.

Jefferson took the lead on lap 19 and never looked back in claiming his first win on the Northwest Series.

Garrett Evans was second followed by defending series champion Kevin Hamlin. Pete Harding and Ken Kaltschmidt rounded out the top-5.

Jefferson covered the 63 mile race in 60 minutes, 12 seconds for an average speed of 62.878 mph.

The next event for the Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series is May 11 at South Sound Speedway in Tenino, Wash.
