A look at the NASCAR Elite Division, Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series Top 10 drivers

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 12, 2003) - The following is a glance at the NASCAR Elite Division, Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series Top 10 in the series championship standings heading into the Pepsi "125" at Magic Valley Speedway June 14. The race in Twin Falls, Idaho will be race 6 of 14 on the NASCAR Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series schedule:

No. 1 - John Bender (No. 18 Big Daddy's Bar & Grill Chevrolet), Kearny Racing.
Last week's ranking: 3rd. Bender scored his second win of the season at Yakima May 31 and fourth top ten of the season. In five starts in 2003, Bender has 2 wins, 3 top five and 4 top ten performances. Bender has held the top spot in the NASCAR Top 10 twice this season and has not been lower than 5th in the standings.

No. 2 - Chris Hart (No. 5 Yakima Implement Chevrolet), Hart Racing.
Last week's ranking: 2nd. Hart maintains second place in the standings for the second consecutive race. Hart finished third at Yakima May 31 recording his third top five finish of the season. Hart has been in the NASCAR Top ten for all five of the races contested so far this season.

No. 3 - Jeff Jefferson (No. 42 Morgan Transport Chevrolet), Allison Racing.
Last week's ranking: 1st. Jeff Jefferson finished 13th at Yakima after a flat tire spoiled a top five run. On the season he has one win, two top five and three top ten performances. Jefferson has been in the NASCAR Top 10 for four straight races.

No. 4 - Jason Jefferson (No. 97 Northwest Dodge Dealers Dodge), Simonson Racing.
Last week's ranking: 4th. Jason Jefferson maintains the fourth place position in the NASCAR Top 10 for the second consecutive race. This Victory Circle Chassis Rookie-of-the-Year contender has one win on the season with three top fiver finishes. Jefferson finished fourth at Yakima May 31. Jefferson has held the top spot in the standings for one race and never dropped lower than fourth.

No. 5 - Joe Benedetti (No. 2 Racecals Pontiac), Benedetti Racing.
Last week's ranking: 7th. Benedetti had a solid 8th place finish at Yakima May 31 and finds himself in the NASCAR Top 10 for the fifth straight race. Benedetti has been as high as second in the championship standings this season.

No. 6 - Gary Lewis (No. 73 Sign Factory Pontiac), Lewis Racing.
Last week's ranking: 11th. Lewis joins the NASCAR Top 10 for the second time this season after a fifth place finish at Yakima May 31. Lewis has dropped as low as 14th in the standings and two top five finishes on the season. Lewis is focused on this week's event at Magic Valley where he has one victory and three Bud Pole Awards.

No. 7 - Steven Howard (No. 38 B&R Plumbing Chevrolet), Howard Racing.
Last week's ranking: 9th. Howard tallied a tenth place finish in Yakima May 31 to boost his place in the standings. On the season Howard has four top ten performances in five starts. Howard has also maintained his place in the NASCAR Top 10 for five consecutive races.

No. 8- Kevin Hamlin (No. 33 American Dream Chevrolet), American Dream Motorsports.
Last week's ranking: 5th. Hamlin has suffered uncharacteristic bad luck this season but has managed three top five finishes. Hamlin has been as high as second in the NASCAR Top 10 and as low as 11th.

No. 9 - Kelly Mann (No. 9 Universal Land Chevrolet), Mann Racing.
Last week's ranking: 6th. Mann is off to his best start in his career and has maintained a NASCAR Top 10 point's position since the first race of the season.

No. 10 - Jeff Bailey (No. 27 Frank & Son Auto Body Chevrolet), Bailey Racing.
Last week's ranking: 12. Bailey maintains the tenth spot in the NASCAR Top 10 for the second consecutive race. On the season, Bailey has one top five and two top ten finishes with his best finish of third at his home track of Tri-City Raceway. Bailey finished 12th at Yakima May 31.
