NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series Big O Tires 125 Postponed

MONROE, Wash. (March 27, 2004) -- Due to inclement weather, the Big O Tires 125 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe -- the season-opening event for the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series -- has been postponed. NASCAR and track officials plan to re-schedule the 125-lap event for a later date. Northwest Series teams participated in two practice sessions on Saturday, however Bud Pole qualifying was not held. The Northwest Series will return to action April 24 at Tri-City Raceway in West Richland, Wash.

The 2004 season marks the 20th year of racing for the Northwest Series, one of four NASCAR Late Model touring series that comprise the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division. Stars of the Northwest Series include defending series champion Jeff Jefferson along with his brother and 2003 rookie of the year Jason Jefferson, 1998 champion Gary Lewis, 1999 champion Pete Harding and four-time series champion Garrett Evans.
