*The Series has not visited New River Valley Speedway since 1994. Ernest Winslow won that event and the Bud Pole.Other event winners include: Johnny Chapman - 1991; Mickey York - 1992; Johnny Smith - 1993.
*The Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championship Points battle has tightened up. There is only a 72 point serparation between first and fourth. Cam Strader has 1672; Roger Sawyer 1666; Robert Huffman 1603; Justin Hobgood 1600.
*Cam Strader is in the hot seat. His points lead has dwindled to a mere six points. Strader has three wins to his credit in 2001. He will be looking to get back on track.
*The Hobgoods are loaded for bear. They picked up a new sponsor in Tracker Boats and Holiday Kamper and Boats. Justin nearly missed not being able to run at Daytona and Jake did skip the race. Having secured sponsorship has given them a renewed determination to get both cars into victory lane.
*There are several drivers eager to get their first win of the 2001 season. Jimmy Britts, Danny Bagwell, Jake Hobgood, Larry Caudill, and Scott Weaver have all been near the front but have been unable to make it to victory lane. Those in the top ten of the Championship Points standings seeking their first career victory are Joey Miller and MAG KLIP Rookie of the Year Contender Wayne Edwards.
