Dr. Bruce S. Kennedy, 53, a prominent plastic and reconstructive surgeon and active member of the Daytona Beach, Florida, community, passed away suddenly on July 10, 2007. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. (ET) on Friday, July 13, 2007 at Seabreeze United Church of Christ in Daytona Beach, Fla. with Rev. Don Epps officiating.

A graduate of Tufts Dental and Medical School, and the University of Miami, Dr. Kennedy maintained a private practice in Ormond Beach, Florida, and was an active member on the Board of Commissioners for the Halifax Community Health System. He joined the Board in 2002, and served in numerous capacities including Treasurer since 2004. He was very active in several local community organizations including The Stewart Marchman Center.

In addition to his many professional accomplishments and charitable endeavors, Dr. Kennedy had a passion for the sport of auto racing and was a well regarded member of the NASCAR community. He was also an avid outdoorsman and fitness enthusiast, who greatly enjoyed fishing, biking, water sports and triathlons.
