DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (September 10, 2003 -- Wisconsin late model ace Terry Baldry (E-Z Lube Chevrolet) returns to the NASCAR Elite Division, International Truck and Engine Corporation Midwest Series, Sunday, September 14 when the series travels to Wisconsin Dells (Wis.) Motor Speedway, for the running of the Hoosier Tire 300.
Baldry will be behind the wheel of Dave Stammer's powerful mount, filling the seat vacated by rookie Jeremy Lepak. The race will mark Baldry's first Midwest Series start of the season and second career run in the #45 machine. Baldry finished third at his home track, Wisconsin International Raceway, in 2002 in his only other start in Stammer's machine.
The green flag is scheduled to wave over the Hoosier Tire 300 at 6:30 p.m. (CT). Twenty-four drivers are scheduled to fill the field for the 300-lap affair, Sunday night. The fastest 16 competitors in time trials earn an automatic starting berth in the main event with four additional starters transferring from the 20-lap last chance qualifying race. Up to four additional provisional starting spots are available based on current points. Qualifying is set for 3:00 p.m. with the last chance qualifier scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
Baldry owns over a dozen Wisconsin track and series titles. In just a handful of Midwest Series starts, he has notched one win.
